Rite of Christian Initiation of Children - RCIC
Requirements for RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children)
This is a two (2) year process for children who are either not Baptized or for those children nine (9) years of age or older, returning to the faith community and asking for the sacraments.
They must attend regularly during the entire two years of scheduled classroom instruction.
They must attend regularly the Holy Mass and if they are out of town, they must bring back a signed bulletin stating that they have attended Mass.
They must be able to recite the Rosary and understand all the mysteries. And the Prayers:
- The Apostles Creed
- Our Father
- Hail Mary
- Glory Be
- The Hail Holy Queen
- The Morning Offering
- Act of Contrition
- Act of Faith
- Act of Hope
- Act of Charity
Know and understand the seven (7) sacraments of God.
Understand the four (4) steps of the Penance and know the Act of Contrition.
Understand the seven (7) gifts of the Holy Spirit along with the 12 Fruits of the Holy Spirit Be able to open their Bibles and find the book, chapter and verse they are asked to find. (They should be reading the scriptures weekly after receiving Reconciliation)
